This digital painting illustrates a scene from the story of Hanzel and Gretel, when they are in the wiches kitchen and she is trying to win them over with sweets. The children are looking worried.
It is painted from a low angle, at the childrens eyeline height , to add drama and show the kitchen to be an enclosed and menacing enviroment. The sky is stormy outside and the interior is mostly lit by the fire. I enjoyed painting the light coming through the sweet lollys!
