This painting shows a small, local fishing boat moored at Mudeford Quay, Christchurch on the South coast of the UK on a sunny summers day. The boat has unloaded its midday catch of fish, and a few seagulls remain circling for any leftovers, while the fishermen crew members rest. Mudeford Quay is in a large natural harbour , known as Christchurch bay, and the large priory can be seen in the distance.
The artwork is done in oils on a 28” x 20” piece of mounting board, which is primed with gesso, and and acrylic paint base layer, on top, followed with the actual oil painting on top of that, and was painted during May 2017.
