I had painted a number of cartoon dinosaur illustrations up to this point so at christmas 2010 I thought it would be fun to turn Santa in to a prehistoric creature, complete with false white beard and half moon glasses. In this case the dinosaur is based on a triceratops, and is pictured in a christmas sleigh stack with presents, pulled by a flock of pterodactyls over a snow landscape at night. The river in the landscape helps to show some form in the land and distance. Painted in 2010.
