This painting was created during July 2017 and features a line up of small sailing boats under covers and resting in a secured location at Weston Shore, along the shore of Southampton Water. The location is a paddock used by a local sailing club and appeared to feature 100 or so vessels, presumable all owned by members.
It is a hot day with the grass bleached and killed off by the summer weather, and some tall grass is still to be found green and growing around the trailers holding the boats, presumably enjoying the shade that the boats offer.
The artwork is done in acrylic paint on a stretched piece of watercolour paper, measuring 20” x 16”.
