Artist's Description
This painting was created during August 2017 and features an industrial scene and seen at Millbrook, in the City of Southampton, Hampshire. A locomotive belonging to the 'Freightliner' freight railway company is undergoing some maintenance, out in the open, at their depot in the area, and which is connected to the container port. One of the outside covers, itself a large piece of body work has been removed to gain access to the powerful 12 cylinder diesel engine. A man, dressed in disposable white overalls is at work on the power unit. The locomotive itself is a class 66, and behind can be seen a class 70 locomotive, a more recent freight locomotive and to the right an elderly class 08 shunter from the 1950s.
The painting is done in oils on mounting board, with the image sized at 20” x 28”.
