Description
This painting of three Mallard ducks sitting on a river bank was produced in 2010 on canvas, using oils. The painting is done to a size of 12" x 16", and based on two old photographs of the same duck sitting on a river bank, combined in to one composition and artworked up. I think these were the first Mallard ducks I painted. The light of the sky reflecting on the water helps to create a tonal contrast in the painting and enhance the outline of the main duck.
