Description
A witch is happily mixing up a potion during the run up to Halloween one night. She is a Steam Punk witch and her work space or coven reflects this in the manner of more recent technology in use. The cauldron is now gas fired and solutions are now able to be pumped in and out of it, via a small steam engine. Other chemicals and ingredients can also be available to her with the turn of a tap, but putting things directly in to the cauldron by hand is still the favoured way to do things overall. The coven even includes some basic electrical apparatus, and a copper boiler, with a black cat standing nearby to enjoy the heat.
She still dons the traditional pointy hat but her working clothes have been stylised with a steam punk flavour, and there is also a set of goggles to hand for any dangerous chemicals, and steam punk inspired jewellery to finish off the outfit.
This illustration was completed during October 2018, and is digitally painted in 'Auto sketchbook pro'. Work was initially done on an android tablet, then at a later stage exported to a windows machine where the artwork is resized and completely repainted. Final grading is done in Photoshop.
