Artist's Description
This is an oil painting of my cat. It is based on an old B/W photograph that I took back in the early 1990s, when I was discovering B/W photography and printing the negative on an enlarger. The cat is a black cat that enjoyed the shade in the garden. So that the cat will show i9n the artwork, I added in a light area where the sun catches foliage on the right hand side of the painting to allow part of the profile of the animal to become clear.
The painting is created on a 7" x 10" canvas board.
