This painting features a close up of a beach area where the sea water laps up and on to a shore of colorful pebbles. It is based on a number of photographs taken at Weston Shore, Southampton, situated on the stretch of water known as Southampton Water, which in turn leads in the the Solent.
I was struck by the pretty colours of the pebbles, quite strong browns, reds and ochres, and the glistening of the water on them.
The painting is painted in acrylics on paper sized at 16" x 12", and was completed during late July 2016.
