This painting was done during autumn 2016 and shows a wooden beach groin on Bournemouth Beach, during the autumn season. It is done in oils on stretched paper sized at 16" x 12".
I have painting this very same groin before but from a different angle and that was done on a smaller canvas board but again using oils. This newer painting is perhaps more subtler and depicts a cooler time of year with greyer colours. I do find that the curve of the waves, and the interior colours created, always fun to do.
